The Crowley Thoth tarot deck was designed by Aleister Crowley and illustrated by Lady Frieda Harris. Click any of the 15 spreads below to get an instant tarot reading using Crowley's Book of Thoth tarot cards with his original written card meanings. Spreads' card positions are briefly explained along with the reading on the following page.
There are no reversals in these readings because Thoth readings rely upon your awareness of elemental charges. When a card of one suit or element is positioned adjacent to another card of the same element, the cards positively charge each other. However, when cards are positioned against the opposing element (ex: wands adjacent cups or fire/water), these cards bear a negative charge. Cards that do not represent either the same or the opposite (ex: cups adjacent swords) are neutral and don't affect the elemental charges. Card dignities are determined by the balance of each card with its environment.
